Frequently Asked Questions
Can the My Heart service be used free of charge?
Yes, you can use the service completely free of charge, but the features will be limited. Any features requiring a doctor’s involvement are available only to paying users. However, free of charge you can save your conditions, procedures performed, medicines you take, enter your symptoms and view explanatory information written by a doctor about all these items. You can also save your medical reports and enter blood pressure, heart rate and cholesterol values.
You can clearly export and print all data.
What are the benefits of the paid version of the My Heart service?
The main benefit is contact with a doctor specialising in cardiology. You can ask questions through messages in the application. You can speak with the doctor both by telephone and by video call. The doctor regularly checks the symptoms you have entered. You can clearly view all recommendations issued by the doctor. If you insert a new medical report, the doctor updates your data in the application — you do not have to worry about anything.
Is the My Heart application a medical device?
No, the My Heart application is not a medical device. The application only facilitates contact between a healthcare provider in the field of cardiology and the user. Without the participation of a healthcare provider, it only enables the display of general explanatory educational information.
Is it possible to order an e-prescription through the application?
Unfortunately, this feature is not yet available. We plan to introduce it during 2027 — you will simply tick the medicines in your treatment for which you require an e-prescription and send the request to the doctor. This feature will be available only in the paid version of the application because it requires a doctor’s involvement.
How is my personal data protected?
Your data is protected against unauthorised access by two-factor authentication when entering the application. In addition, the application automatically logs out when inactive, so if you share a web browser with several people, the data in the My Heart application should not be viewable. The data is stored in Germany and is regularly backed up at two different physical locations.
I am a doctor and would like to cooperate. What conditions must I meet and how does the process of starting cooperation work?
Cooperation is possible only with doctors authorised to provide healthcare services in the field of cardiology. If you want to cooperate, you need to create an account in the system by clicking the “Create a doctor account” link. In the following steps, enter an email address and password and verify your mobile phone. Then enter the Company ID and name of the healthcare provider in the field of cardiology where you are listed as the professional representative.
You then download the contract with the My Heart platform, sign it electronically using the token used for e-prescribing, upload the file back and submit the application. We will assess your application individually and, if you meet all the criteria, your doctor account will subsequently be activated.
